And More Wildflowers!

This wildflower is called 'purple vetch' and I found it on the same roadside as the others. The lovely purple blossoms grow close together on both sides while the leaves all grow on one side of the vine.
Notice the tendrils at the end of the stem? They grab everything gowing nearby causing the plant to be close to the ground.

This pretty little wildflower is called 'prairie violet'.

I found it on the same roadside as the others. This road is traveled very little and the wildflowers seem to fill the roadside.

I love the delicateness of this flower.

Your wildflower series are all beautiful, from the Spiderwort up to the last Purple vetch. You have given each its own beauty. I love all your original themes you come up with and then take them on in series... It is nice being spoilt like this, so...what is next?

That purple vetch is such an interesting flower - and it makes such a great composition. Isn't nature amazing? Great job with all of these flowers - thanks for sharing.

Absolutely love your rendering of the purple vetch. It's ultra-voilet color makes it my favorite roadside wildflower. I haven't had much luck transplanting them, such wiry, spindly things - but my goal for 2010 is to gather vetch seeds late this summer to scatter along my own roadside.
