I just returned from Hawai'i and while there we took a barefoot catamaran tour around Kaua'i. We were instructed to not take anything we valued so I left my sketch book at the hotel and took my camera :)
I was so taken with the looks of Captain Jeff that I took lots of photos. His sunburnt skin, hair flying in the wind while holding the wheel. I knew I was going to paint him for my memory sketchbook.
And then I saw the theme word and sat right down to paint him. Even though I just got home yesterday and am in jet lag, I had to do it as soon as I unpacked.
Happy Illustration Friday!
