Just For Grins

I'm not sure if you all know that when I retired from nursing, I got married again (I was a widow), moved to Small town, Wisconsin and started writing human interest stories for the local newspaper. After five years of doing that I retired again much to the dismay of my editor. But we were spending more and more time in Arizona so it was for the best.

Anyway, when we went to the 4th of July parade and VFW Chic Nic, we saw the photographer from the paper and he took our photo. The Editor has a sense of humor like me and she planted the photo right in the middle of a whole collage of photos on page 1 of the second section.

I went to see her today and we giggled over it. I thought you might all get a grin from it too.

And no, I don't want a job again :)

what a good pic, and how exciting finding 'love' again after retirement...i think i'm only going to do one more year fulltime, then semi-or totally retire.enough is enough.

Thanks everyone. Yes, retirement is absolutely great! You should all try it. What you all don't know is I normally take a horrible picture so I couldn't miss the opportunity to show a good one.

And Rose, wouldn't that be just like me to have a mouth full of food for a photo op, but then it wouldn't be on here :)

I did enjoy writing for the newspaper and met the most wonderful people, most of whom were thrilled to be written about. There are so many stories I could tell. I actually fell in love with every story and I think it showed.
Yes, I still have people tell me they miss my articles.
