We decided to take a weekend trip to Pinetop, Arizona in the White Mountains. And you know me, I have to sketch my surroundings while DH drives Miss Daisy. Truth be told I don't like driving on mountain roads so I was happy he drove most of the way.
We have never been up this way before and were surprised how really beautiful it is.
While the map looks like a mishmash of lines and paint it makes perfect sense to me :) I tend to sketch and paint on top of things. The most beautiful area we saw was Salt River Canyon--that little corner sketch with the blue river down below.
We were really surprised at how much this area looks like Wisconsin and just as cold too!
The White Mountains are a favorite getaway for Tusconans in the hot summer.

I love your travel maps Teri. They inspired me to do one when I went to Chicago this summer. It was my first train ride.

also about service- that is probably sooo true that the priest thinks you are taking notes! we actually have note paper in the seats for such. I am gonna try it for sure now!! I will just take my notes around visuals! Why I didn't think of that sooner- or think it was ok- hey I AM a visual person. I will let you know how it goes!
