Illustration Friday - Similar

The theme word at Illustration Friday this week is 'similar' as suggested by our own Studio Lolo!
Notice how similar in form and height the 'Boon Docks' bottle and the palm tree are? Quite eye-catching.
I saw this sight the other day and had to do a quick sketch and finish it at home just yesterday. The huge bottle advertises a place called the 'Boon Docks Lounge' and is located on First Avenue in Tucson.
Curiously enough, as I was starting to post this sketch, the radio was playing "Boon Docks"!! How's that for serendipity!!!
Happy Illustration Friday!

I almost choked on my coffee when I saw that you mentioned I picked the word! I didn't even KNOW that!
I hope I come up with something good now that I'm in the hotseat :D

Have a wonderful, sketchy weekend :)

Yes, good eye in catching the similarity and how wonderful to be so in tune!

Love how all this tied in such a weird way.
That is call the collective Universal consciousness.

As someone said you sure are "in tune"... Cheers!

Great coloring on the bottle. I love that you were able to shade the contours of the glass even with watercolor. :)
This is quite an interesting take on the theme of similar, I like it.

Thanks for visiting my blog, Teri. Lovely illustration too...the closest I'll get to blue sky and a palm tree here in freezing cold England! x

you always have very interesting illustrations. i cannot imagine you inside your home....you are always out and painting and creating. it would be nice to hang out with you one day.

Boon Doks remind me of our bundok in my homeland which means mountain(also?)

Teri, you always find the most interesting things to sketch. A wine bottle as large as a palm tree. Now that is some imagination working.

Another lovely one, Teri. And another brilliant, and unique, interpretation of the theme.

I have to say that is one of my favourite things about your blog. Your very wonderful way of interpreting a theme. I still remember the 'draw some excercise equiptment', for which you drew your living room lights?!!!! I love the way your mind works. Long may you run, Teri.
