Cactus Monday - Dried Blossom

I was walking one day and saw this young (about 3 foot tall) 'Night-blooming Cereus' with it's red seeds and spent blossoms. Those dried blossoms looked so interesting I just had to sketch them. The spines are very small on this cactus.
I could not resist inverting the image because I always wonder what colors will appear. Isn't this a beautiful lavendar?

Happy Cactus Monday!

Loving both pieces here. The top is so fresh, the bottom comes with a great mystery. Well done Teri:)

Great images!! It almost looks like a ghostly monster with the dangling arms :) I prefer the top one but I do love the lavender and turquoise combo too. How do you reverse them? I don't have photoshop, do you need that?

Love this take and composition on this image of "Night Blooming Cereus". It's like it has arms with muscles or shoulder pads :-)
The watercolor here is superb also.
Have a wonderful HCM and a great week.

Will be going to Chicago for an exhibit I'm in and will be gone for about a week. Will try to post on the road, but I don't have a lap top though so it will be tricky. Best again to you Teri!

if he's got a pocket, i'd look for an ipod. it looks like he's got headphones on.

i love driving by those cactuses. they all look humanoid to me. i fancy them as aliens in disguise.
