Cactus Monday Casa and Mr Linky

This is a page from my new journal on handmade paper.

This casa or house is typical of many houses in Arizona and is made of stucco. The color is called (appropriately enough) 'desert rose'. I was really light on the paint because I wanted to make the whole scene look washed in sunlight.
Seems most of the houses in Arizona have cactus in the yard.
I am trying something new. Some of you may be familiar with Mr. Linky but this is my first time actually trying it in a post. I uploaded Mr Linky so each Cactus Monday member can post their CM entry on their blog and then put the link on here.

That way we know who is playing.....or not.
Please leave a comment and let me know if you like this method.

I am editing this for two reasons; first, we have a new member, Sue, who is joining us. Welcome Sue!
Second, when you click on Mrl Linky, it opens up on another page. It should open on this page so not sure why that is happening but will check into it. Maybe I will just scrap the whole idea.
And...HAPPY CACTUS MONDAY!!

Another great cactus sketch! That pink glows! Someday I'd like to take the time to do a sketch of some succulents I have in a pot in my garden---would you accept a one-off submission?

Hi teri, I linked, and it works, but I have seen it work on other blogs where the links are on the same page. Currently the links here are on a separate page. Anyhow, I think it a VERY good idea. you are techno wizz. congratulations to you, and by the way, I do love the soft colours and washed out look. It makes me want to go there....

Happy Cactus Monday Teri. The Casa de Rosa is gorgeous there in the sun.

I don't see the page with all that have linked. It must be hidden for some reason. I love this way of listing who is playing this week so I don't miss anyone. I have everyone on my Reader Feeder but it sometimes is a day or two late in telling me someone has posted.

I had a yecky weekned so I don't have my Cactus done yet. I will though. I will link when I get it ready.

Hi Teri,
I want a pink house! Is Cactus Monday for illustrations only? I have some cactus art hidden some where in the deep recesses of my hard drive. I also have some decent photographs. Hope your week is getting off to a great start.

Yum. I love that pink. A couple of Palo Verdes Trees, and I'd be moving in.

Lovely painting of lovely house.
I'm excited after painting class to try this too now.
Stay tuned.
As for the link it just kept trying to open but did not, but I have trouble for some reason with opening lots of extras on my computer. I need to get my computer guy over here to figure this problem out for me. I did post cacti today however.

Well first of all, I am proud of me for finally getting Mr Linky on the same page thanks to the wonderful help desk they have for dummies like me.

Since we are a growing group I think this will really help.

Laureline, we would love to have you make a submisson!

Valerieannah, come join us. You can submit photos as well as original art.

Welcome Diane C., I know you will have some gorgeous cactus to show us!

Lynn, maybe it will work this time. Or maybe you have a Mac as they sometimes don't like to play nice.

Happy Cactus Monday everyone.

Actually I was going thru your blog and was so impressed I just added myself in it without a thought. Just after the linking happened, it set me thinking!!!! How will I do it? Here I don't see any cactus...& I am living in a flat!!! Not much outdoors!!! Anyways I'll try my best! Pls do let me know what it is about.

deepazartz said...

Funny to think that I added the link assuming that is to FOLLOW!

Teri C said...

Deepazartz, I tried to write on your blog but posting is not working. So I hope you stop back here.

You can post any kind of cactus; painted, sketched or photo'd and post it on Monday and put your name on Mr Linky. We will be happy to see what you come up with.

You will be surprised at where you will find cacti now that you are looking.

Email me if you have any more questions.

Thanks..I'll try my best!
My name hasn't come here. I linked it...but can't see my name there.
Regarding posting in my blog...it's ok now. There was moderation which I didn't know about. I've taken that off.
I am unable to see ur mail id...is it there in this blog page? Can u post it for me?
Thanks once again.
