Blooming Tuesday - Cari's Coneflowers

My daughter, Cari, has the most beautiful gardens! I had some time while we were there this weekend so I grabbed a lawn chair and sat in front of these beautiful coneflowers and sketched them.
In this particular plot the blooms are just thick with coneflowers, monarda and not yet opened black eyed-susies.
Unfortunately, the mosquitos also love the flowers (and the whole yard), so this was a fast sketch and painted inside.
I just love those coneflowers so I even did an ATC. (NA)
I am now going to contribute to 'Sketching in Nature' and am very excited to part of that group and all the wonderful artists that contribute there. It was started by Cathy Johnson who has written at least 30 art books of nature and sketching and is one of my very favorite nature artists.
These coneflowers will be my first entry there and now I am inspired to do more nature sketching, which is really my first love.
Happy Blooming Tuesday everyone.

Beautiful Coneflowers Teri. I thought it was time I said hello. I've been hearing about you from Lynn since last summer. Greetings from Chris in Northern Richland County, WI (1/2 hour south of Mauston)

oh, I love Cathy Johnson. And she is right to ask you to contribute! LOOK at these cornflowers.

If a mosquito or most any flying bug gets near me, I run screaming like a girl.

I agree with "soulbrush"! HOW do you manage to keep up with all these on line groups???

And... the color of these cone flowers is so clean and clear (as are all your colors) and stunningly brilliant. Makes my eyes happy!

Teri, I love your sketches and especially these coneflowers. Seems this has been a very good year for coneflowers in this area too. They are everywhere in my yard.

I'm so happy that you are going to participate in the "Sketching in Nature" collaborative. I have always loved Cathy's watercolors and have tried to use her as a mentor for mine. I think your work will be right at home with hers.
