"Oliver"

Last Sunday we went to see a musical called "Oliver" which was based on Oliver Twist.  The theater is a small old building that seats about 50 and it was full.
The play was very fun and well done.  "Oliver" was played by a cute third grade boy and he did a great job.  "Nancy" was played by a high school senior and she also did a great job especially singing.

I really like how this turned out with the dirt on his face and shirt and looking kind of tattered, just like the orphan, Oliver.
When I got home I immediately downloaded the book "Oliver Twist" to my iPad and want to read it again.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday also, been way too long since I was there.  Always lots of creativity over there to see and enjoy.

You know me....the "Literary Diva"...a-ha-ha! I read this and all of Mr. Dickens works...this one is a favourite. I know the musical too...but the only song I can think of at this early hour is *Consider Yourself*... (I think that's the name...)

Your sketch is spot-on... it truly looks like Oliver!!! I continue to be inspired by all the great work you are doing... you, Cris and Lynn are the "Sketch Muses"!!!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

Teri,
This is such a lovely sketch. He sure is a cute little boy,
My highschool put on this play back in 1969 or there abouts, the songs are great, I think.
Enjoy reading Oliver Twist!
I love Dickens too, and btw I believe it's the 200th anniversary of his birthday this year.

Dickens is a master at creating unforgettable characters. Great sketch of Oliver. I can't imagine any third grader I know pulling off that role.
