Much Better Third Day

This is a sketch I started yesterday but never finished.  I saw something in Amarillo that made me think of this, but then I started driving and that was the end of my sketching.  So I finished it today.
I try to sketch early in the day while I still have the energy and desire.

We spent a lot of the driving in Kansas and I saw something similar to this so created it in the car.  It is on pre-painted WC paper and it's so interested what happens when I paint something else on it.  Sure gave that boot some interesting color.  Everything in Kansas seems to be sunflowers and I fell into that real easy.

We are stopped in Des Moines, Iowa for the night.  Then we found a Culvers for a cup of soup.  Culver's is a Wisconsin hamburger/ice cream place that we enjoy at home.  They even planted some daisies in front for me.  lol

Much easier day driving today.  I was dreading driving though Kansas City but it was a piece of cake.

About 6 hours of driving tomorrow and we will be home.
All our days of driving the temperature has been in the 80's and 90's but me thinks that won't be happening back in Wisconsin.

Thanks for traveling with me.

Teri,
thanks so much for your posts, it HAS been fun travelling along with you!!!
Wonderful sketches, and the sunflowers in the western boot, are super! It sounds like sunflowers are a commonly planted crop in Texas, wow, those fields would be something to see!

It's so good to hear that Day 3 went smoothly and comfortably, and how nice to find a reminder of home for soup, and of course the daisies were perfect...Day 4, and you'll be home!
If Wisconsin is anything like Saskatchewan, it may indeed be cool - today seems to be 2 to 5 C with lots of cool breezes, but that can be very refreshing, and good for driving, too!

Wishing you a safe, and happy homecoming!!
Hugs, Brenda :)

By the time you read this, you may be home!

As everyone has said, it has been great fun being *on the road* with you....

The *Flowery Boot* is adorable! It will be a great memory for your Winter 2011/Spring 2012 stay in the Southwest!

Hmmm...Daisies just seem to follow you everywhere!!!! Perfect!

Sending you a big *Welcome Home* Hug!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

Cool take on the classic Amarillo motif! Need to go there and esp to Palo Duro Canyon...only 265 miles. Just a few less mountains than the same distance to El Paso...

Daisies...funny. Hopefully, you have some cacti to remind you of the sunny...really sunny...side of your life, too.

Funny how this drive brings out the cowboy footwear. CUTE. I hope you are home safe and sound now.

What a fun trip you are on! I love the pre-painted WC paper idea. I have done it only a few times, but with very interesting results!
