Mardi Gras

We had a Mardi Gras party Saturday in our clubhouse and I went up early to sketch some of the wall decorations.  And added a bit of my own to the sketch.

Mardi Gras literally means "Fat Tuesday" and is the last celebration before Lent starts.

Is Fat Tuesday the same as Shrove Tuesday, before Ash Wednesday? Already, Easter is coming! And with it the thought of spring, and tulips! Yippee!
Called fat tuesday, because you use up all the fat and sugar, and make pancakes? )Also known as pancake tuesday? :)
I'm thinking Mardis Gras IS apart of this as well.

The colours capture the joy of a carnival! Beautiful!

I watched the slideshow of your bird's pictures. She looks exactly like mine... *very big sigh* Unfortunately, we lost her, after fifteen years. She was a member of our family, another child of ours. I still miss her, very, very much.
